ANOTHER BIG GAME FOR CAPRIOLI, BOOTH

FDR Girls Lacrosse Doubles Up O’Neill

HYDE PARK – Yet another big game for the dynamic duo.

Gianna Caprioli had six goals and two assists Monday, and teammate Amelia Booth had five goals and an assist as the Franklin D. Roosevelt High School girls lacrosse team beat O’Neill, 16-8.

Theresa Schiba and Hannah Guarino had two goals each for the Presidents, and Emma Elliott had one goal.

FDR controlled the game from the beginning.

“Patience on offense was a key to playing at our pace,” Roosevelt coach Brett Booth said. “We handled the ball well and reduced our unforced errors considerably. Excellent team defense made it very difficult for O’Neil to get to the goal.”

Four of O’Neill’s goals were scored in the last few minutes of the game as Anna Slater had five saves.

For O’Neill, Guenaviere Cooper has three goals and Jackie Evangelista had two.
