Blazers Will Face S.S. Seward In Sectional Championship Game

MILLBROOK – Erin Fox added to her legacy on Tuesday, setting the Mid-Hudson Athletic League career scoring mark, leading the No. 2 Blazers to a 63-22 win over No. 3 Pine Plains in a Section 9, Class C semifinal.

Millbrook will face No. 1 S.S. Seward on Thursday night at Middletown High School for the title. Both teams are state-ranked.

Fox came into the game needing 19 points to surpass Highland’s Bri Rozzi as the MHAL’s all-time leading scorer. The Marist College-bound senior finished with 22 to get to 1,923 total, besting Rozzi’s 1,920.

“It felt really good,” Fox told HVSR about the record. “I worked for this and put a lot of work in. It’s nice to see it pay off at my last year at Millbrook. It was extra special for it to be in a semifinal sectional game as well. It just added a little more excitement to the achievement. I feel really good about going out with a bang in my last year here and I’m trying to make the most of every second.”

Madison Harkenrider and Natalie Fox had nine points apiece for Millbrook, and Emily Grassler tallied eight.
