BEACON SOCCER FALLS TO NEMESIS

Boys Drop Contest To Byram Hills

BEACON – Beacon High School debuted its new turf field on Saturday for a boys soccer game, and the Bulldogs couldn’t get a better opponent than perennial Section 1 power Byram Hills.

And the game lived up to it.

Bailey Goldstein scored in the 43rd minute as Byram Hills nipped the Bulldogs, 1-0.

“It was a very evenly matched game with both teams creating few clear goal-scoring opportunities,” Beacon coach Craig Seaman said. “Both teams are young and talented and got their first taste of the high level play of the top teams in Section 1 boys soccer.”
