John Jay Boys Soccer Wins Again

WHITE PLAINS – Are we looking the No. 1 Class AA boys soccer team in New York State when the rankings come out again on Sept. 28?

Could very well be.

John Jay High School won again on Saturday, beating White Plains on the road 2-0 behind a pair of goals by Zach Rabadi.

The Patriots are now 8-0 overall.

But it isn’t the quantity of victories as it is the quality on the resume. John Jay, ranked fourth in the state in Class AA, has beaten virtually every top Section 1 team including Fox Lane, Ossining, New Rochelle, North Rockland, White Plains and archrival Arlington.

But the Patriots have also beaten No. 9-state ranked Monroe-Woodbury and, on Thursday, overwhelmed No. 1 Mamaroneck – another Section 1 team – in a 5-1 domination.

Right now, the Nos. 2 and 3 teams in the Class AA state rankings are Williamsville-North (Section 6) and Ithaca (Section 4). Could John Jay, based on its dismantling of the No. 1 team in the state, leapfrog both teams and take over the top spot?

Stay tuned.
