Eagles Debut In 8-Man Football

ROSCOE – The memories of 0-9 last year were gone in 49 minutes for Onteora High School football.

Owen Allison had a big game at quarterback Saturday as the Eagles defeated Roscoe, 30-6, in a Section 9, Eight-Man League opener for both teams.

Allison was 12-for-24 passing for 208 yards and three touchdown passes. He also rushed for 65 yards and a score, and added four tackles on defense.

Shane Bresler caught two balls for 50 yards and a score, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Anthony Umhey and John Kurz both had TD receptions as well.

Nick Ross had 11 tackles to lead an aggressive Onteora defense that included numerous forced turnovers, including four fumble recoveries by Ross. Nick Crawley had eight tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery; Justin VanDendooran had five tackles, a fumble recovery, an interception and four punt returns for 90 yards; Brandon Reid had four tackles and an interception; and Noge Crossan had two tackles and a sack.
