Rams Record Shutout On The Road

FREEDOM PLAINS – The Carmel High School boys soccer team just served notice.

We’re. Back.

Tayte Wong and Simon Douglas both scored goals, and the Rams’ defense was superb as Carmel upset Arlington, 2-0, in a league match.

The Admiral fell to 2-2 overall and the Rams improved to 2-0.

“It was all the boys. They played with full intensity,” Carmel coach Vasily Shevelchinsky said. “They played like every moment was their last game.”

Wong and Douglas scored just a minute apart midway through the second half.

“We forced everything on the outside,” Shevelchinsky said. “We pressured them and they made a couple of mistakes and we were able to capitalize.”

That left it up to goalkeeper Joe Galeano, who made nine saves to preserve the shutout victory.

“I think this is a good step forward,” Shevelchinsky said. “We’ve been trying to put Carmel back on the map and earn some respect.”
