Rams Overwhelmed In The Second Half Of Section 1-AA Title Game

MAHOPAC – When people talk about the New Rochelle High School football program, the words most often used are “fast” and “explosive” and “quick-strike capability.”

Carmel found out all about that in heartbreaking fashion.

Leading 14-13 late in the third quarter, the Rams were helpless as New-Ro’s Jessie Parson ran wild, leading the Huguenots to 29 unanswered points and a 42-14 victory on Saturday night in the Section 1, Class AA title game at neutral Mahopac High School.

The victory continued a remarkable streak. New Rochelle has now won five straight sectional championships and 14 in the last 20 seasons.

Carmel did not back down at all in this game, but the Huguenots’ skill position players were just too much, particularly Parson, the running back rushed for a school-record 327 yards and five touchdowns, including back-breaking runs of 50, 60 and 77 yards.
