CRUSADERS BREAK IT OPEN FOR WIN

Baseball Team Gets Four In The Top Of The Seventh To Beat Washingtonville

WASHINGTONVILLE – Sean Lynch and Tyler Guadagno had the key hits in a four-run seventh inning, and the Monroe-Woodbury High School baseball team broke open a close game and beat Washingtonville, 7-3, on Saturday.

Leading 3-2, Andrew Jamison led off the seventh with a single and scored on Guadagno’s double. Lynch singled home Guadagno and MW got two more unearned runs for the victory.

Jemison, Steven Campione, Daveas Espinal and Richard Monda all had one hit for the Crusaders. Dylan Beers got the win on the hill, going six innings and giving up just one earned run, while scattering three hits. Beers struck out six and walked two.

The Wizards committed eight errors that led to five unearned runs. Anthony Felice and Kevin Walla both had RBI singles for Washingtonville.
