DESTEFANO LEADS DOVER FOOTBALL TO WIN

Quarterback Rushes, Passes Dragons Past Fallsburg

FALLSBURG – Quarterback Tyson Destefano ran and threw for more than 100 yards each, leading Dover High School to a 48-12 victory over Fallsburg on Friday night in an Eight-Man League opener for both teams.
Destefano rushed for 115 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown, and threw for 132 yards and a pair of scores.

The Dragons had a 42-0 lead before the Comets got on the board.

Dover’s Jayson Vitolo ran for 72 yards and a TD on just two carries, while Evan O’Connor had 54 yards on the ground and had a rushing score and touchdown reception.

Declan Noonan caught three balls for 54 yards, while JoJo Kennedy had one rushing and one receiving score.
Justin Hanze led a defensive attack with five tackles, two sacks, two caused fumbles and a fumble recovery. Colin Fuller and O’Connor also had fumble recoveries; the latter had seven tackles and the former had six. Jason Gotay had six tackles and four passes defended.
