Blue Devils Strand Tying Run At Third To Preserve Win

ELLENVILLE – Ellenville High School baseball withstood a furious Sullivan West rally on Friday, stranding the tying run on third base to preserve a 6-5 non-league victory.

The Blue Devils improved to 5-5 overall.

Ellenville led 6-2 heading into the top of the seventh when Sully West rallied for three runs. Reliever Tiler Ferenthell earned his first varsity save with the tying run on third by delivering a strikeout.

That preserved the win for starter Eddie Owsinski, who went five innings and gave up only four hits.

Justin Guiliano had a huge day for the Blue Devils with a home run, sacrifice fly and four RBI. Jason Lonstein drove in the other two runs.

Collin Hauschild slugged a home run for Sullivan West.
