FDR BOYS STAY UNBEATEN

Presidents Improve To 4-0 After Beating Dover

HYDE PARK – The Franklin D. Roosevelt High School boys basketball team is still unbeaten in this shortened, truncated season after a 69-52 victory over Dover on Tuesday afternoon.

FDR is now 4-0 overall.

Jordan Blue had 22 points to lead the Presidents, who also received 15 points from Josiah Smith and 12 from Hunter Vansteenburgh.

For Dover, Jay Fontana led the Dragons with 20 points.

“I thought we got into a nice rhythm early,” FDR coach Kevin Hart said. “We set the tone early with some nice transition buckets. And I thought we had some nice contributions off the bench.”

Chris Budd scored six points and teammate Quadir Newton added five points off the bench for the Presidents.

“We’ll see what we’re made of these last three games,” Hart said of games remaining against Millbrook on Thursday, Spackenkill on Friday and Red Hook on Sunday. “That will be a good measuring stick of how good we are … or could have been.”
