Presidents Will Square Off With New Paltz For Division Title

RED HOOK – Franklin D. Roosevelt High School will hook up with New Paltz one more time on the golf course.

That was made possible on Tuesday when the Presidents defeated Red Hook, 172-193, to improve to 9-1. New Paltz has the same record, meaning a one-match, nine-hole playoff is set for Thursday to determine the Mid-Hudson Athletic League division champion.

The third match between FDR and the Huguenots will be at neutral McCann Memorial Golf Course in Poughkeepsie at 2 p.m. The two schools split their two regular-season matchups.

The Presidents had four players within five shots of each other in the victory over Red Hook. Michael Bucholsky led FDR with a 4-over-par 40, followed by Ike Rothman with a 43, Joe Nesbitt at 44 and Liam Murraso with a 45.
