GERMANO’S PK GIVES ARLINGTON GIRLS WIN

FREEDOM PLAINS – Sofia Germano has always lived up to the moment, and Thursday was no exception.

Germano converted a penalty kick midway through the second half, lifting the Arlington High School girls soccer team to a 2-1 non-league victory over Suffern.

The Admirals are now 4-1-1 overall.

Arlington’s Casey Stowell scored with 18 minutes left in the first half by following up her own shot that was originally assisted by Megan Stowell.

Suffern tied the game with 11 minutes left in the first half when Sydney Goldstein scored off a through ball in the box.

Lauren Haley had eight saves for the Admirals.
