Brewster Sophomore Grace Galgano Leads Girls To Win

BREWSTER – If the young Brewster High School girls basketball team is to make some noise this season, it will be done on the heels of its post player, Grace Galgano.

The sophomore had a huge game on Thursday night, and the Bears remained undefeated with a 53-49 victory over Pleasantville.

Brewster is 2-0.

Galgano had 21 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks.

“Grace is just way too big and strong for them; they had a good, team but just were not that big up front,” Brewster coach Mike Castaldo said of his 5-foot-10 sophomore, who is also a team captain.

Juniors Carly DeLanoy and Alexis Mark added eight points each, and Madison Dakin chipped in seven points.

“We start a freshman, two sophomores and two juniors, so our inexperience shows at time,” Castaldo said. “But we’re 2-0. Our bench really stepped up.”
