HIGHLAND GIRLS PULL THE UPSET

No. 7 Huskies Knock Off No. 2 Liberty In Girls Soccer

LIBERTY – It’s not a sectional tournament until somebody pulls an upset.

And we have our first.

Brooke Harris had a hand in just about every goal as No. 7 Highland High School beat No. 2 Liberty, 6-3, in a Section 9, Class B girls soccer quarterfinal.

The Huskies will travel to No. 3 Rondout Valley on Wednesday for a semifinal matchup.

Harris had two goals and three assists to lead Highland. Nicole Iapoce had two goals and an assist, and Marissa Korzeniecki and Morgan Calimano also scored.

Jocelyn Antonio added an assist for the Huskies and Lea Schlosser made 12 saves.

For Liberty, Sydneigh Fleischman, Yamileth Romero and Ally Roth all scored.
