“I am very proud of this team. The boys showed tremendous grit and relentless effort. To be down 7-1 midway through the second quarter and to fight back into it the way we did, I can’t say enough about these boys,” Highland coach Tom Schlappich said. “We played an incredibly difficult schedule this year and lost a 10-8 road playoff game to a very good Minisink Valley team. I believe we had a fantastic season.”

Roger Hegeman scored two goals for the Huskies. Jack Young, Christian Canino, Danny Rusk, Chris Hammond, Jake Ward and Dean Klotz all scored a goal as well.

Highland’s Lenny Casabura made eight saves.

Matt Biddle made 10 saves for Minisink, which will play No. 1 Warwick on Tuesday, May 28, at Faller Field in Middletown at 4 p.m.
