HOT ARLINGTON WINS AGAIN

Admiral Boys Have Taken Five Out Of Six

NEW CITY – After walloping John Jay in a league contest earlier this week by almost 40 points, the Arlington High School boys basketball team stepped out for another non-league game on Saturday.

And another win.

Jack Sims had 18 points and a key heads-up play at the end of the game, helping the Admirals to a 53-50 win over Clarkstown North.

Arlington is 7-5 overall after its fifth win in six games.

Cory Rywalt added 10 points for Arlington.

Sims and Delano Knox came up with a heady play at the end of the game ensure the win. After North cut it to a one-point deficit with 15 seconds left, the Admirals inbounded the ball to Sims. Clarkstown North tried to trap him to either get a turnover or five-second call, but Sims didn’t panic.

Realizing Sims was double-teamed, Knox streaked up-court. Sims said him, fed him, and Knox dropped in a layup to make it 53-50.

With no timeouts, Clarkstown North was forced to hustle back, inbound the ball, and get off a three-quarter court desperation heave that missed.
