Beacon Football Stays Unbeaten With Win Over Goshen

GOSHEN – Well, so far this season the Beacon High School football team has shown us diversity.

The Bulldogs showed they could go wire-to-wire with a season-opening 10-0 win over Kingston.

Then they proved they could play catch-up by spotting Roosevelt a 14-point lead before rallying for a 21-14 victory.

Then, on Friday, Beacon showed it could hang on as well.

The Bulldogs raced to a 21-0 halftime lead and held off host Goshen, 28-21, in a Section 9, Class A league game, the first league contest of the year after Beacon moved from Section 1 to Section 9.

The ‘Dawgs are now 3-0 overall heading into a big matchup next week against Wallkill.

Beacon again used its rushing attack as its primary weapon.

Quarterback Jason Komisar ran for 107 yards and scored two of the Bulldogs’ four rushing touchdowns.

Ahmir Bell and Isaac Hansen both added touchdowns on the ground.

Taylor Haydt and Louis DelBianco combined for four-and-a-half sacks to lead a solid defensive effort for Beacon while teammate Sam Lunsford came up with a key interception.
