HS BOYS BASKETBALL: Wallkill knocks off Saugerties

WALLKILL: It’s awfully tough to win when you have two big scorers coming at you from both sides. Saugerties High School found that out the hard way.

Dean Grinder banged four three-pointers en route to 18 points and 10 rebounds, and teammate Sean VanDuser had a team-high 19 points to lead Wallkill to a 71-53 victory in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League boys basketball game on Monday.

Both teams are now 4-2 overall.

Christian Pagan added 10 points for the Panthers while Paton Gibbs had a game-high 24 points for Saugerties. The Sawyers’ Darnell Edge added 16.
