HS FOOTBALL PHOTO GALLERY: Millbrook’s ground attack pummels Dover, 48-14

DOVER PLAINS – Well it’s good to see that only the cast of characters change for Millbrook High School football.

The Blazers might have graduated running back Henry Cardinal but sophomore Delvin Wood and senior Mike DoCarmo stepped right in for the season opener on Sunday.
Wood had 172 yards rushing and three touchdowns, and DoCarmo added 163 yards and two TDs, and Millbrook ran all over Dover, 48-14, in a non-league game.

“I was confident going into the game but I didn’t think it would end up like that,” Millbrook coach Sean Keenan said. “We have a lot of weapons.”

The Blazers didn’t complete a pass; didn’t have to. As a team they rushed for 474 yards. DoCarmo also added two two-point conversions.

Defensively, Jacob Higgins had eight tackles and a fumble recovery, Connor O’Donnell had four tackles, a fumble recovery and a sack, and Chris Caroleii added four tackles, including a sack.

“I thought we did a good job all around,” Keenan said. “You run for that many yards and everybody has to do an outstanding job, from the offensive line to the quarterback to the fullbacks.”

Our partners at Taconic Sports Shots were at the game to take these great photos. Please visit their site to purchase any reprints.
