JOHN JAY, ARLINGTON STILL ON VOLLEYBALL COLLISION COURSE

Patriots, Admirals Both Win To Stay Unbeaten

 

WICCOPEE – The John Jay and Arlington high school volleyball teams remained on a league collision course, as both teams won their respective matches on Tuesday.

Arlington improved to 6-0 overall with a 4-1 victory over Our Lady of Lourdes. Scores were 25-12, 23-25, 25-20 and 25-11 as the Admirals prepare for a good non-league showdown with Millbrook on Wednesday.

John Jay is also 6-0 after a sweep of Poughkeepsie by the scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-14. Robin Taylor had a great day offensively with seven kills and three aces. Mackenzie Cronin had added five kills. Middles Makenzie Dixon and Ashley Buragas combined for seven kills and a pair of blocks.

Brooke Borba and Hailey Howard combined for eight digs and excellent serve reception, according to Patriots coach Maria Mahoney.

John Jay takes on Lourdes on Thursday morning.
