POUGHKEEPSIE – Abby Mealy tallied a career-high in points as Roy C. Ketcham High School rolled to an 85-30 victory over Poughkeeepsie on Saturday for its first girls basketball win of the season in three tries.

Mealy, daughter of head coach Pat Mealy, had six three-pointers in the second quarter during a 25-1 run that turned a two-point lead after the first quarter into a 26-point halftime advantage.

Freshman Caitlin Robertson had 16 points, Cali Cioochi added 14 and Jaylyn Chorba, another frosh, had 10 points.

“The girls are buying in, they’re improving every day,” Pat Mealy said. “Our freshmen have stepped up and they’re learning by fire.”

The Indians are home to Carmel on Monday.
