Softball Team Edges Past .500 With Victory Over Mahopac

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Addie Brandemarte had four hits at the plate, sister Skylar Brandemarte threw a four-hitter on the mound, and the Roy C. Ketcham High School softball team beat Mahopac, 11-2, on Friday.

Ketcham is now 5-4 overall heading into Saturday’s annual Bisaccia Tournament at RCK. Games are at 10 a.m., Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. featuring the host Indians, John Jay, Guilderland and Columbia.

Addie Brandemarte was 4-for-5 in the game with a triple, two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI to lead the offense. Natalia Wendover was 3-for-5, including a double, a run scored and two RBI.

Skylar Brandemarte went the distance, allowed only four hits and struck out four.

“Good bounce back game for us,” Ketcham coach Scott Satterlee said. “We got a quality pitching performance and got the bats going, and we did what we had to do.”
