KNOX, ARLINGTON BOYS STAY UNBEATEN IN LEAGUE

Admirals Win On The Road At Carmel

CARMEL – Delano Knox has been playing solid basketball all year for Arlington High School, so you had to know this was coming.

The sophomore scored a career-high 21 points on Wednesday night, and the Admirals won for the sixth time in seven games with a 77-65 decision over Carmel.

Arlington is now 8-5 overall and 3-0 in the league.

Carmel is 7-6.

Rashawn Grant had a double-double for the Admirals with 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Brian Havner added 14 points and even boards.

The Rams actually jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter before Arlington tightened up its defense in the second half.

“Our kids kind of answered the call,” Arlington coach Matt Hoyt said.

Sophomore Drew Fiore again led Carmel with 15 points, while senior Jarid Garcia and junior Ben Autieri added 14 each.

“I love how we battled; now we need to learn how to close,” Carmel first-year coach Joe Ross said. “The difference came down to a tough Arlington team executing at the end.”
