LEARN, FISCHER POWER OLL IN OPENER

Girls Begin Season With Rout Of Fox Lane

BEDFORD – Enjoy it, Our Lady of Lourdes High School girls basketball coach Al Viani told his players after Monday’s season-opening win over Fox Lane.

“I told them it might be the easiest one they get all year with our schedule,” Viani said after the Warriors routed Fox Lane, 71-33, in a non-league contest.

OLL starts a stretch on Friday against Shenendehowa when it plays eight of the top 15 teams in the state.

“It was a good start for us,” Viani said. “We knew nothing about them but we got out to a 12-0 lead and were never really challenged from there. Our schedule is just going to be brutal from here on out.”

Ava Learn led all scorers with 22 points for the Warriors while Samantha Fisher drained five of her six three-point shots en route to 17 points.

Junior Ashley Seymour had eight points and Rachel Irish chipped in with five points.
