LOURDES HOOPS SWEEPS

Boys Beat Hendrick Hudson, Girls Top Carmel

MONTROSE – Both the Our Lady of Lourdes High School boys and girls basketball teams were able to spread the wealth on Tuesday in easy victories.

The boys went on the road to top Hendrick Hudson, 72-46, while the girls stayed home and beat Carmel, 81-27.

Ryan Selander led the Warriors with 15 points and Ben Bullock had 13 in the victory over Hen-Hud as OLL improved to 12-6 overall. The Warriors were up 10 at the half before pulling away in the third quarter.

“We just came out really strong and opened it up,” Lourdes coach Jim Santoro said. “I felt like we had a number of chances to blow it open in the first half we let them hang around.”

The boys have just two games left before the postseason and both are traditional rivals – at Beacon on Thursday and home to Poughkeepsie next week.

As for the girls, Ava Learn had 28 points in the victory over Carmel as Lourdes improved to 14-3 overall.

Four Warriors scored nine points each – Ashley Seymour, Sofia Feigelson, Samantha Fischer and Skyler Felice.

Like the boys, the OLL girls have two tough games upcoming – home to Mahopac on Thursday, at Arlington on Monday.
