Indians’ Jamison Castrataro Takes The All-Around

MAHOPAC – Mahopac High School took at least the top two places in all four events on Monday night, as the Indians beat Clarkstown North, 170.8-163.5 in a Section 1 gymnastics meet.

Mahopac is now 4-0 overall.

“What a total team effort tonight,” Indians coach Vin Collins said. Mahopac has a season-high in total points, and season highs in points on the bars, balance beam and floor exercise. “I didn’t see us scoring this well for this early in the season but this team is full of surprises; always challenging themselves with more difficulty in their routines and their execution is getting better and better.”

The Indians went 1-2 on the vault, balance beam and floor exercise, and finished 1-2-3 on the uneven parallel bars.

Jamison Castrataro won the vault and the balance beam en route to scoring a total of 35.75 points to capture the all-around. That beat out teammates Lia Graap (34.5 points) and Chloe Lee (34.4 points).

Lee won the uneven parallel bars and Graap took the floor exercises.

“Jamison had a great meet,” Collins said. “A season high in the all-around and her beam routine tonight was outstanding! Lia was terrific on floor exercise tonight – well-executed and clean.  Her best routine of the season. Chloe was her usual consistent self with clean solid routines on bars, beam and floor.”

Collins also had high praise for Nicole Giannetta, who had a season-high in the all-around competition with 32.2 points..
