Foxes Close Out Eight-Game Road Swing With Win Over UNH

DURHAM, N.H. – More and more, as the college basketball season progresses, it’s becoming clear that this is a different Marist men’s team.

The Red Foxes again evened their record at .500 by closing out an eight-game road trip with a 58-49 victory at New Hampshire on Wednesday.

The ungodly start time of 11 a.m. didn’t seem to affect Marist as it put together an unbelievable 29-3 run over the last 16 minutes of the first half after the Wildcats took an early 9-4 lead.

New Hampshire drew as close as six early in the second half but the Foxes never let their lead fall below seven over the last 10 minutes of the game.

At 5-5 overall, Marist can go over the .500 mark with a win at home on Saturday against Brown.

Senior guard Brian Parker led Marist with 13 points. Freshman point guard Darius Hines and senior forward Ryan Funk gave the Red Foxes three double-digit scorers as both finished with 11 points. And freshman center Luke Nedrow led the Red Foxes with a career-high seven rebounds.

Marist committed a season-low 10 turnovers.
