Red Foxes Sweep Quinnipiac For First Time Since 2014

HAMDEN, Conn. – Redshirt senior captain Grace Vander Weide recorded a season-high 21 points, nine rebounds, and three steals on Saturday afternoon, leading the Marist College women’s basketball team to its ninth straight win, a 64-51 win over Quinnipiac at People’s United Center.

The Red Foxes, now 23-4 overall, swept the season series with the Bobcats for the first time since 2014.

Marist is still in the hunt for the regular-season Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title, tied with Rider with 16-2 league records.

Redshirt senior captain Alana Gilmer totaled 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Fellow captain Rebekah Hand added 12 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. As a team, Marist snagged 43 rebounds.


Mackenzie Dewees was Quinnipiac’s leading scorer with 11 points. Sajada Bonner chipped in 10 points, while Paige Warfel had a game-high 18 boards.

Marist begins its final homestand on Thursday, March 5 against Iona at 7 p.m.
