MARST MEN SIGN SIXTH PLAYER

Junior College Forward Braden Bell Joins Foxes

POUGHKEEPSIE – Marist College men’s basketball just added its sixth player to its roster for the upcoming 2018-20 season.

Coach John Dunne has announced the signing of Braden Bell, a 6-foot-7 forward from Rowlett, Texas. Bell joins the Red Foxes with three seasons of eligibility beginning with this coming season.

Bell played last season at Ranger Community College in Texas.  He shot 53 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range, and 73 percent from the free-throw line while averaging just over eight points per game. Bell’s team reached the NJCAA national championship game this past season, and he is one of eight players to move on to a Division I four-year school.

“Braden has a great feel for the game,” Dunne said in a statement. “He has good vision to go along with his passing ability. He’s a very good mid-range shooter who has the ability to step out and hit a three.”

Bell becomes the sixth newcomer to join the Red Foxes for the upcoming season. On April 18, Marist announced the addition of Jack Cavanaugh, Henry Mayen Makeny, Tyler Sagl, Tyler St. Furcy, and Zion Tordoff. Marist will also have the services of Michael Cubbage, Jordan Jones, and Matt Turner, all of whom red-shirted the 2018-19 season.
