MIKE AND IKE PACE FDR GOLF AGAIN

Presidents Defeat Rondout Valley

STAATSBURG – Mike And Ike candies have nothing on the Mike And Ike from the Franklin D. Roosevelt High School boys golf team.

The duo of Mike Bucholsky and Ike Rothman, which has been solid all year, turned in the top two scores again on Wednesday to lead the Presidents to a 166-176 victory over Rondout Valley in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League match.

The outing was played at the par-34 Dinsmore Golf Course.

FDR is now 7-2 overall and RV dropped to 6-3.

Rothman, just an eighth-grader, earned medalist honors with a 38, with the senior Bucholsky parked right behind him with a 39.

“They have been tremendous all year, tee to green,” Roosevelt coach Kevin Hart said. “They were playing lights-out golf. I’m really happy for Michael as a senior. They play a lot of golf. Their practice is paying off. They are committed to golf all year long.”

Ian Nelson shot a 41 for FDR and teammate Liam Murasso carded a 48.

Dan Harkin shot a 40 to lead the Ganders. Hunter Lapp and Eric Paddock both fired a 43, and Tanner Bober shot 50.
