MILLBROOK GIRLS MAKE SOME PROGRAM HISTORY

Lax Team Beats Class A Monroe-Woodbury For The First Time

MILLBROOK – Kaitlyn Daly had three goals Monday as her Millbrook High School girls lacrosse team made a little bit of program history, beating Class A Monroe-Woodbury for the first time, 5-4.

Millbrook, a Class C school, is 7-1 overall.

Ironically, the Blazers started out in a 3-0 hole to the Crusaders. Brooke Babbitt and Cat Halpin also had goals for Millbrook.

“After regrouping we started placing our shots better and being more patient in the attack zone. We transitioned well today and played as a team much more than we have in previous games so far this year,” Millbrook coach Jillian Barnes said.

Arianna Radovic and Hannah Fisher had great games defensively and goalkeeper Claire Martell had three saves and three interceptions.

“We rarely get to play Monroe, they are a very good program and the last time we faced them in the regular season they beat us in overtime,” Barnes said. “Today we were really working together and wanted to play a tough game against them.”
