Dignan Leads The Way With Big Match

MILLBROOK – Cecilia Dignan had 20 assists, six aces and five digs on Thursday, leading the Millbrook High School volleyball team to a 3-0 Mid-Hudson Athletic League win over Spackenkill.

Scores were 25-16, 25-15 and 25-6.

For Millbrook, Callie McGuire had eight kills, a pair of aces and four digs. Julia Stoliker totaled seven kills, three aces and two digs. Natalie Fox posted seven kills.

“I was very happy with our serving. Progressively we got better each set,” Millbrook coach Shawn Stoliker said. “We made a lot of service errors in the first and cut that down. If we serve well we can get on a good run and that third set showed that. I was happy overall with what we did.”

Freshman Kiera O’Hearn drew Stoliker’s praise for her efforts on the service line.

Priscilla McReynolds had five kills and six digs for the Spartans, and Grace Anderson had six assists.

The Blazers are now 4-1 overall while Spackenkill is 8-5.
