MOUNT ACADEMY TAKES FOUR-WAY XC MEET

Eagle Boys Put Five Runners In Top Eight

RED HOOK – Mount Academy put five runners in the top eight Saturday, and the Eagles beat three other Mid-Hudson Athletic League teams in a four-way boys cross country meet hosted by Red Hook High School.

The Mount beat Red Hook, 15-46; topped Wallkill, 23-36; and knocked off Roosevelt, 19-41.

The host Raiders finished second with wins over Wallkill and FDR. Wallkill was third by virtue of a win over the Presidents.

Mount Academy’s Ike Blough won the event with a time of 16 minutes, 8.8 seconds covering the traditional 3.1-mile course. Blough beat Wallkill’s Luke Diemoz by a little more than 12 seconds and Diemoz’s teammate, Jake Craypo, by just over 15 seconds.

Roosevelt’s Stefan Hummel was fourth with a time of 16:27.7.

Red Hook’s top finisher was Gavin Roca, who placed 10th in a time of 17:31.5.
