Softball Team Wins Again, Off To 7-1 Start

KINGSTON – Um, don’t look now but coach Ryan Naccarato, who won a state title with Marlboro High School softball before jumping to coach Kingston this season, has the Tigers at 7-1 overall after Wednesday’s 14-1 victory over Valley Central.

Kingston put it away early and the game ended in five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Grace Tremper gave winning pitcher Lauren Shambo all the runs she needed with a single, double, home run, walk and four RBI. Although Shambo wasn’t too shabby, throwing a three-hitter and slugging a home run as well.

Tori Ost singled, doubled and walked for the Tigers. Courtney Schwark had two singles and a walk, Victoria Demercurio doubled and walked twice – seeing a theme here yet? – while the Bonewit sisters, Sydney and Shannon, singled and walked, as did Hailee Binney.

Ava Guralnick reached base three times, all via base on balls.

Kingston is back at it on Thursday in a big game against Monroe-Woodbury.
