NEW PALTZ GIRLS XC TAKES TRI-MEET

Huguenots Beat Both Marlboro And Onteora

HIGH FALLS – New Paltz High School took three of the top five spots on Wednesday, as the girls’ cross country team beat both Marlboro and Onteora in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League tri-meet.

The Huguenots topped Marlboro, 21-34, and beat the Eagles, 24-32. Onteora bested the Dukes, 23-34.

The meet was held at Spring Farm on the Mohonk Preserve.

New Paltz’s Amelia St. John was the overall winner, covering the course in 22 minutes, 23 seconds to beat out teammate Claire Holt, who was second at 24:25.

Onteora’s Lucciana Robertson came in third in a time of 25:30, one second better than fourth-place finisher Marie Antonelli of Marlboro.

New Paltz’s Briana Corlini rounded out the top five with a time of 25:37.
