Three Different Players Score In Soccer Win

YONKERS – Three different players scored and the defense was superb on Saturday, as the Our Lady of Lourdes High boys soccer team shut out Yonkers, 3-0, in its season opener.

Freshman Alex Hooper opened the scoring at the five-minute marked by burying a deflected shot into the back of the net.

With five minutes left in the first half, Hooper then fed senior Dan Gigliotti a ball that he drilled into the goal to make it 2-0.

Finally, 10 minutes into the second half, Robert Ranieri found the back of the net after receiving a through ball from Gigliotti. Dominick Derocha had five saves to notch his first shutout and win of the season. The Warriors next play Sleepy Hollow at home on Monday.
