Bombers Are 2-0 After Win Over Spackenkill

PINE PLAINS – Penelope Paldino and Jackie Povall both had two goals on Wednesday, leading Pine Plains/Rhinebeck high school field hockey team a 5-0 shutout of Spackenkill.

It was the home opener for the Bombers, who are now 2-0.

Bella Torre scored the first goal just 90 seconds into the contest unassisted.

Paldino scored unassisted 10 minutes later, Povall added the third goal unassisted and Paldino added another one with eight minutes left in the half.

Povall wrapped up the scoring in the second half off an assists from Kaitlyn Weise.

Spackenkill goalie Allyson Dreyer had 14 saves, while Pine Plains split its keeper – Kai Mannino didn’t need to make a save and Alyssa Bathrick preserved the shutout with two saves late in the game.
