Admirals To Face John Jay For The Championship

FREEDOM PLAINS – As expected, even in this crazy, truncated season, the cream rises to the top.

Arlington High School volleyball swept past Ketcham on Tuesday, 25-13, 25-16, 25-18, in a Section 1, Dutchess Region semifinal to earn another crack at John Jay in Thursday’s championship game.

Arlington and Jay split two regular-season games.

Katie Brennen had nine kills, four blocks, sevendigs and an ace to lead the Admirals, while Annalisa Alicea had nine digs and four assists, and teammate Morgan Bucey added 10 blocks and three kills.

“What helped just win today is that we were really just all able to come together as a team and we were all really excited and all there for each other,” Bucey said.

Added Brennen: “Communication was a big thing for us today.”

Sathya Jarembek, pulled up from JV due to Jordyn Wilsea being out, contributed five digs, seven assists and an ace for the Admirals while Taylor Morgantini chalked up nine assists, five digs and five aces.

“We see (John Jay) all the time in our league and we have great competition between the two teams all the time,” Arlington coach Maria Greenwood said. “This is it. This is for the championship. This is for everything.”
