Bulldogs Get Off To A 2-0 Start To Season

COLD SPRING – Devin Kelly scored a team-high 14 points on Saturday morning, leading the Beacon High School girls basketball team to a 44-36 win over Haldane and a sweep of the season-opening two-game series between the neighboring schools.

Haldane used a good portion of its 12 steals to lead by four in the first half before the Bulldogs rallied for a five-point halftime lead.

Tianna Adams added 10 points for Beacon while teammates Reilly Landisi and Devaya Rodrigues had eight points apiece.

Maddie Chiera had an outstanding all-around game for the Blue Devils with a game-high 17 points, five steals and four rebounds. Ella Ashburn had six points and Marisa Scanga added three rebounds.

On Friday night, the Bulldogs captured a 47-30 victory as Landisi tallied 17 points. Ruby Poses had six points and three steals for Beacon.

Chiera led Haldane with 10 points, four steals and three rebounds. Ashburn chipped in six points, five rebounds and three steals.
