Coach Cody Moffett Puts Poughkeepsie Basketball Through Its Paces

POUGHKEEPSIE – When last we left the Poughkeepsie High School boys basketball team, the Pioneers were marching down Main Street to the sounds of noisemakers and cheers.

And why not?

To the victors go the spoils, right?

Poughkeepsie completed its phenomenal season back in March by erasing a nine-point halftime deficit for a 69-59 victory over Pittsford-Mendon in the New York State Class A championship game.

It was the second state title in school history and, yeah, a parade was well-deserved.

But that was then.

This is now.

The Pioneers hit the court last week on the opening day of winter season practice, so we wandered over to their workout on Wednesday to see what is largely a new team.
