Cocca Has The Lone Goal To Lift Admirals To Fifth Straight Win
FREEDOM PLAINS – Michael Cocca had the lone goal on Saturday afternoon, leading the Arlington High School boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory over league rival Ketcham.
It was the fifth consecutive win for the Admirals, who improved to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the league.
“It’s never easy playing a team a second time,” said Arlington coach Craig Sanborn, whose team beat Ketcham last week. “We did a nice job defensively and kept the 0 on the scoreboard. It was another match where we created good scoring opportunities but did not capitalize, so there’s still plenty of improvement to be had, which is a good thing at this point.”
Cocca scored in the 33rd minute on an assist by Shaun Smith.
Nick Grippo earned the shutout with 10 saves, while Ketcham counterpart John D’Ermidio was outstanding with 14 saves for the Indians.
