Bushwomen Beats Millbrook; Onteora Tops Highland In Consolation Game

BOICEVILLE – Tea Griffith had a game-high 13 points on Wednesday, and the Pine Bush High School girls basketball team beat Millbrook, 52-39, to win the Onteora Holiday Tournment.

Taylor Pannell and Isabella Colon each chipped in with 11 points each as PB improved to 2-0.

Pine Bush buried five three-pointers in the first quarter and jumped out to a 20-10 lead it never relinquished.

Natalie Fox led Millbrook with 12 points. Ella Wilson added 11 and Maddy Harkenrider added seven points and two steals.

“We did some good things, but we didn’t convert our layups or get to the free throw line enough,” Blazers coach Adam Peek said. “We are a work in progress and we’re just going to try to get better.”

In the consolation game, host Onteora got a double-double from Grace Hallinan in a 50-33 victory over Highland.

Hallinan had 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Monroe Maki and Ashley Hillard each chipped in with 10 points. Hillard also had four assists and six steals.
