Raiders Shut Out Marlboro In Boys Soccer

RED HOOK – The Red Hook High School boys soccer team is undoubtedly enjoying playing soccer in this unusual year as they keep on racking up the wins.

On the second night of a back-to-back, the Raiders gritted out a 3-0 win against Marlboro in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League game on Wednesday.

“We were pretty tired after a big win last night but were able to do enough to break down a tough Marlboro side,” said Red Hook coach Steve Sutton. “(Alex) McAteer (Marlboro’s goalie) came up big with several saves that kept it close.”

Red Hook’s unblemished campaign continued, moving to 8-0-1 on the season. Luca Buitoni was the main man in the Red Hook attack, providing two goals, while Julian Day provided the other. David Rendon helped facilitate the offense contributing two assists. Angel Selenis was perfect in the goal for Red Hook, blocking both of Marlboro’s two shots on goal.

As for Marlboro, which fell to 3-3 on the season, McAteer had 11 saves on 14 Red Hook shots.
