RED HOOK, MOUNT ACADEMY WIN VOLLEYBALL TITLES

Raiders Earn Class B Crown, Eagles Take Class D

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – Section 9 crowned its first two volleyball champions on Saturday as Red Hook High School and Mount Academy both claimed titles.

Red Hook went back-to-back in Class B by sweeping Port Jervis, 3-0, at Bard College. Scores were 25-19, 28-26 and 25-20.

Madeline Boucher led the Raiders with 18 kills and five aces. Mackenzie Wade had 16 assists and a kill, and Maddie Vosburgh added 10 assists, two aces and one kill.

For Port Jervis, Amber Carlton tallied 14 assists and 11 digs, Anastacia Richardson had nine kills and a pair of blocks, and Julianna Sauschuck totaled five kills, four digs, three aces and two blocks.

Mount Academy won the ‘D’ title in the program’s first year of existence with a 3-0 sweep of Tuxedo.
