RED HOOK WINS AHEAD OF HISTORIC GAME

Cahill, Crittenden Lead Raiders Past Rondout

RED HOOK – Brandon Cahill and Luke Crittenden combined for 42 points, and the Red Hook High School boys basketball team beat Rondout Valley on Friday night, 61-47,

The victory came less than 48 hours ahead of a historic game for the Raiders, who will play James I. O’Neill on Sunday at Christl Arena on the United States Military Academy at West Point post.

“Deb Crowe, the O’Neill varsity boys coach and athletic director, invited us to play in a beautiful arena on extraordinary, hallowed grounds,” Red Hook coach Matt Hayes said. “Our kids, coaches and fans are excited about this unique opportunity.”

Against Rondout, Cahill had 25 points and Crittenden added 17. Dylan Bayliss chalked up 10 points and seven rebounds.

Aaron Coston had a double-double for the Ganders with 21 points and 16 rebounds, while teammate Hayden Mutz had 11 points.
