RHINEBECK WINS COMES AT A PRICE

Girls Soccer Team Loses Key Player

RHINEBECK – Rhinebeck High School shut out Onteora on Tuesday, 3-0, in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League girls soccer opener for both teams.

But the win might have come at a price.

Coach Matt Grande said one of his top players, whom he did not name, was injured 90 seconds into the contest.

“But everyone stepped up and played great in her absence,” Grande said.

Esther Murray had a goal and two assists for the Hawks. Juliet Murray and Elise Voorhis also scored.

Helen Fleming had four saves, while Ella Schulkind and Kayla Soden anchored a strong defense in front of her.
