Raiders Get Double-Double From Jason Davis

RED HOOK – It was, Red Hook High School boys basketball coach Matt Hayes said, “his best game of the season.”

Jason Davis posted a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Raiders to a 71-62 non-league victory over Monticello.

Red Hook is now 7-2 overall after winning its sixth consecutive game while Monticello dropped to 6-5.

Davis had 17 points in the second half, including 11-of-14 from the free throw line. Brandon Cahill scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and Luke Crittenden had 10 points off the bench.

Reece Curley and Chris Yearwood did an outstanding job on Monticello’s two leading scorers, holding Josh Gattling and Jordan Ruggerio to a combined 21 points for the game, 11.5 below their season average.

Damorn Hall-Rucker led Monticello with 20 points.
