Warriors Erase Four-Goal Deficit Late In 4Q  To Advance In Sectionals

ARDSLEY – This, as the cliché in sports goes, was not looking good.

Down 13-9 with six minutes to play and playing on No. 8 Ardsley’s home turf, the Our Lady of Lourdes High School boys lacrosse team was in a bind.

It was going to take a herculean effort to not only stop Ardsley’s momentum and scoring, but for the Warriors to score themselves.

No problem, apparently.

Ninth-seeded OLL went on a blitzkrieg, scoring six goals in six minutes to beat Ardsley, 15-13, in a Section 1, Class C first-round game on Thursday.

The victory sends the Warriors to Saturday morning’s quarterfinal game at No. 1 Pleasantville.

Dillon Rispoli and Joe Scaglione led the way offensively, with the former scoring five goals and dishing out an assist, and the latter adding four goals and an assist.

Adam Breault scored three times, Trevor Arnone had a pair of goals, and Evan Mullaly had a goal and two assists.

Goalie Andrew Bucher had five saves.
