On The Eve Of The State Baseball Quarterfinals, Here’s How At Least Two Of The Admirals Got So Good

Wanna know how Arlington High School built this season’s baseball team that is one step from the Final Four?

Heart. Practice. Dedication from a young age. Parents who ran their kids back and forth, back and forth, back and forth to practices and games and lessons.

Here’s two examples.

Former Arlington and Dutchess Community College baseball star Matt Veronesi sent us a great email with some reminders.

The kid in the blue shirt above? That’s Arlington No. 1 starter Kevin Besko back in 2004 as a member of the training facility Frozen Ropes.

The video below?

That’s Admirals standout catcher Austin Zakow batting at the 15-second mark in a commercial for Frozen Ropes.

And just to show you that the dedication and hard work is spread all over the Hudson Valley among our great players, in the same picture above, on the bottom right with the E on his cap, is John Jay star Steve Schoen.

Pretty neat, huh?

It’s Arlington vs. Kingston on Saturday for the right to go to the Class AA Final Four. Game time at Pace University is 2 p.m. Follow us on Twitter for updates.
